Ethics Scholars Highlight Study of Medical Students’ Perceptions of Dementia at Arts & Minds

Reference: Childress, PhD. and Chen, MD, MPH, 2015. Art and Alzheimer dementia: A museum experience for patients may benefit medical students. Neurology, 85(8), pp.663-664.

In this editorial, Childress and Chen reference the study by Roberts and Noble and suggest that museum-based art activities may positively influence medical students’ formation as compassionate, clinically adept physicians. “A day at the museum,” they write,  “may well be a wise prescription, for persons with dementia and their caregivers, to be sure, but also for apprentice physicians.”
